The new Runalyze design is now live

, Posted in Releases

A few weeks ago, we gave you a sneak peek at the new Runalyze design—and now it’s finally here: The redesign is complete and live.

Thanks to your feedback from the testing phase, we were able to fix a few bugs and further refine many details, while consistently focusing the interface on clarity, structure, and usability. The result isn’t a completely new Runalyze, but a targeted update with clear goals: a clearer layout and improved mobile experience in a more modern design—without sacrificing the familiar core structure.

The navigation hasn’t changed significantly, but we’ve tried to make it a little more organized. The header and sidebar have been given a bit more space, and on pages that don’t require the full width, the sidebar remains expanded. This also applies to the activity view, so that the tools for an activity are accessible there. To have the tools that are most important to you personally right at your fingertips, you can now mark menu items as favorites.

Overlays and modals are used much less frequently in the new design, which automatically gives the corresponding pages more space and makes them easier to navigate. To return to the dashboard, simply click on the first menu item or the Runalyze logo.

The modal also continues to display primarily smaller forms—including the activity form. In the new design, the basic values and round data are collapsed by default in this form to provide direct access to the manually entered data fields.

The biggest challenge was presenting the content clearly within Runalyze despite the sheer volume of data—especially when it comes to displaying it on mobile devices. Nevertheless, we’ve made huge strides in ensuring that Runalyze is fully functional and easy to use on mobile devices. And to go along with that: Runalyze is now also available in dark mode (see Account Settings).

The new design is now available to all users. If you have any feedback or encounter any issues, we’d love to hear from you. Many of the improvements made over the past few weeks are based directly on your input. And of course, development doesn’t stop with this release—we’ll continue to refine the new design on an ongoing basis.

FAQ

RUNALYZE looks completely broken for me

With the current version of RUNALYZE, we are using more modern web technologies to make the platform faster, more secure, and easier to maintain in the long term. This includes the use of modern JavaScript and CSS features.

The following browser versions are required at minimum:

  • Google Chrome 111 (released in March 2023)
  • Safari 16.4 (released in March 2023)
  • Mozilla Firefox 128 (released in July 2024)

Other Chromium-based browsers (such as Edge, Brave, or Opera) should also be updated to a comparable recent version.
